There are many ways you can volunteer, whether you have experience leading ministry or not. Here are activites and events where we often need help:
New Student Outreach (NSO). August.
Volunteer help at information tables the Friday and Saturday before classes start is a Godsend every year. This is a great opportunity for recent alumni who know the chapter well and like to meet people! We also need help behind the scenes on the logistics of all those tables.
Fall Conference. Early November.
We need almost 100 volunteer for this weekend training conference to lead small groups of students, lead worship, work behind the scenes, and serve on the prayer team.
Chapter Focus Week. Mid May.
Every year we need a handful of people to volunteer for a week behind the scenes for our year-end training conference. A great opportunity for alumni, parents, or supporters who want to see college ministry up close while helping out. We also usually need one or two experienced InterVarsity alumni to help run training or music.
If you are local, or willing to make a trip down to Champaign, there are often ways to pitch in. Every year we need help at mailing parties, providing home-made food and housing for students who return early for NSO training, or even low-cost short-term housing for brand new staff.
Let us know how you’d like to volunteer! A staff member will get back to you with more details.
